Super Mario Bros World 8 Walkthrough
World 8-1
Step 1
Hit the ? block from beneath to reveal a spring. If you jump on it, you will be able to see the star coin, but to get the coin you will need to pick up the spring and place it on the pair of blocks a short distance to the right.
Step 2
Bounce off the bullet bills to reach the second star coin. Don’t let the Boos get in the way – lure them to the left so you can jump while facing them.
Step 3
Wait for the cannon to fire past the star coin then drop onto the coin and wait for it to fire again before you wall-jump up. to get above the flagpole, wait until the cannon fires, jump onto the platform to the right, and hop onto the Banzai Bill.
World 8-2
Step 1
Hit the ? switches scattered throughout this stage to raise the water level. That will give you a limited amount of time to swim to the top and find the next pipe.
Step 2
Jump across the barrels to the left, stomping as many skeeters as you can along the way, and hit the ? switch to raise the water level. You can then jump across the barrels to the exit pipe or, if you are Mini Mario, run along the water’s surface into a pipe that leads to a bonus area.
Step 3
Grab the starman and dash through all of the Mini Goombas to earn 1-Ups before the starman fades.
Step 4
Consult the map to tell where you should ground pound to drop into the coin groups and the star coin. If you have a mega mushroom, this is a great place to score several 1-Ups.
Step 5
The water level won’t rise quite high enough to let you jump into the second star coin. You will need to wall-jump into it (though normal Mario can’t) or bounce off of a skeeter to reach it.
World 8 Tower
Step 1
Get in front of the row of spikes and crouch the moving platform will push you through the coins and to the other side.
Step 2
When there is a gap between the spike tops, leap onto the platform and crouch to take it for a ride. Leap up to the second star coin, then crouch again; the upper platform will push you out of the cramped space.
Step 3
Jump off of the dry bones or the flying ? block to hit the invisible blocks. You can then wall-jump onto them and into the star coin.
