Super Mario Bros World 5C
Step 1
After the Broozer smashes a path through the blocks, jump over it and onto the star coin platform to trick it into punching through that, too. If the Boo falls off a ledge, you can make it reappear by travelling a few screens to the right.
Step 2
Stop the spinning buzzy beetle by stomping on it, then kick it into the star coin. The buzzy beetle moves fast, but if you miss it, you can spawn a new one by moving back through the platforms to the left.
Step 3
This vine block can grow all the way from the caves to the sky, but it won’t get any farther than the ceiling if you don’t smash the blocks above it first.
Step 4
The Broozer is the key to getting the third star coin. Hit the P switch when it is on the left side of the brick platform, then jump atop the brown blocks to trick the Broozer into smashing a path to the coin for you. When the P switch shuts off, drop down the column of coins directly to the level exit.
Step 5
Hit the ? switch to generate a row of red blocks to the exit pipe. Broozers will fall from above and smash it apart, but this ? switch isn’t timed, so you can either dash through quickly or take your time and kill the Broozers.
World 5-4
Step 1
Yellow-topped mushroom platforms will sink when you land on them (but will stop automatically at the bottom of the screen). Jump repeatedly to raise a platform high enough that you can jump to the next one.
Step 2
Red-topped mushroom platforms are just the opposite of the yellow-topped ones, rising as you stand on them. Watch out so they don’t push you right into a bullet bill!
Step 3
Leap through the red-coin ring and jump as soon as you land on the mushroom platform to grab the top two coins. Sink to the lower pairs, then proceed right, using the platforms to get each other coin in turn.
Step 4
The first star coin is a gimme, but only Mini Mario can slip through to get the second. Other Mario sizes will need to go around it, stomp the Koopa on the red mushroom platform and kick the shell to the coin. Watch out for the rebound!
Step 5
Stomp the green Koopa on the ledge and kick its shell to the right to set the 1-Up free. Dodge the shell’s rebound as you ride the mushroom platform down and chase after the 1-Up mushroom.
Step 6
Hop repeatedly on the red mushroom platform so it cannot rise, then step onto the ledge at point 6. You must get the star coin from this direction; invisible blocks obstruct the path from below.
